The pulse duration of the KaVo KEY Laser 3 is so short that the reaction threshold of the nerves is not reached. There is often no need for anaesthetics. There are no vibrations and no shrill drilling noise.
KaVo KEY Laser 3 kills all germs. Owing to the high energy absorption in water of this laser wavelength, the moisture content of the germ cells is evaporated. The cell membrane bursts and the cells thus die.
The KaVo KEY Laser 3 can be used to prepare teeth for a filling when new caries is detected. The conservative preparation minimizes the destruction of natural tooth structure and conditions the enamel and dentine to enhance the bonding of restorative material.
